"There are black people in the future!" In celebration of Juneteenth, we will honor the past by imagining and creating the future. We will explore Afrofuturism as a cultural movement and art practice, envisioning future generations of Black Americans and crafting ceramic pieces to pass along.

Quinn McNeill, artist and Director of Operations at Artshack, will lead a meditation focused on envisioning the future with creative optimism. Participants will reflect on how their hopes and dreams for the future can shape their actions today. This meditation will inspire the creation of ceramics that symbolize our commitment to a vibrant and thriving future for Black communities.
