Everything is be ready for pickup about 3 weeks after your class. Please don't call to ask if your piece is ready!!!!
We work to get your work fired and returned ASAP but occasionally it is not ready to be picked up right at the 3 week mark. Sometimes our kilns get backed up due to routine maintenance and public school classes. If it has been less than one month please return and check again in a week or two. If it has been over a month you are welcome to email us at info@artshackbrooklyn. Please include your name and the date you attended in your email. Thank you for your patience.
Even though we are very careful, sometimes pieces break during the firing process. This is one of the hardest parts about working with clay. We consider our classes experience based. We cannot offer refunds for pieces broken during firing.
Firing Fees are 6 cents per cubic inch for both firings, bisque and glaze (you pay once).
Sorry, we can't fire your work unless you are a member or a student currently enrolled in a class.
We regularly stock three clay bodies from Standard Ceramic: white stoneware, tan speckle, and red/brown.
We also order member-favorite white speckle whenever possible. Sorry, we can’t sell you clay unless you are a member.
We now offer unlimited open studio time on a first come first served basis for adult students (with the exception of one-off classes, that do not include open studio time). We ask that you self-regulate during high-traffic hours, so that everyone can enjoy this perk. Please check the calendar for open studio hours.
Please refer to our studio calendar.
You can come in any time during open studio hours to glaze. Please see the studio calendar for more info.
We only do one-off classes on the weekends. Please sign up before you come!
Masks are optional. All people must be fully vaccinated to enter our studio.
We’ll keep your pieces for 4 weeks after the end of your session.
For 2 months.
We don't offer any make up classes, but we now have expanded open studio hours. Please make sure to check your calendar before committing to a class.
Please sign up to our newsletter to be notified when registration opens.
