Artshack's first Communal Ofrenda- everyone is invited to add to this communal piece for the 2 week duration.
Observing Dia de Muertos allows the living and dead to coexist, converse, and eat together with relatives who no longer inhabit this world. Rather than a time for idle rest, death marks a transition in the course of existence, in which the deceased participates as the living in the reproduction of the indigenous cosmos. A Mexican Ofrenda is a display of treasures used to honor ancestors for the Day of the Dead.
