The work:
I didn't plan ahead when making this puppy. It was a jam session. There was a glimmer of a vision and I played with it. The heads never get to kiss. They're so close but stuck in a drooling perpetual anticipation. I'm sure it came from something subconscious that I'm not ready to uproot, but my conscious self just thinks the image is really freaking funny.
Dimensions:
12" x 12" x 10"
The artist:
Mars is a punk guitarist, gamer geek, dog friend and ceramicist. His work is centered around humorous pieces that are almost like self-portraits, capturing different facets of his personality through various facial expressions. Each piece is unique, often taking on a life of its own as he lets the clay and shapes guide him without predefined sketches. The result is a collection of vessels adorned with funny faces that evoke laughter and joy.
