The work:
Life pushes its shoots, its light through dry, fissured soil, through concrete and asphalt, life contends within us and demands its outlet and germination. This is the pursuit of the meaning of life - to bring light and love even when it seems that there are neither forces nor opportunities, and the world is about to collapse.
Dimensions:
16" x 16" x 3.5"
The artist:
Masha Vintskevich was born in Russia. Graphic designer and ceramic artist. For 25 years she has been the chief designer of one of the largest international jazz festivals in the country. As a designer she worked in many musical projects. In 2014, she completely turned to ceramics. She has been living in New York for the last 2.5 years, working at Artshack Studio since 2023. “Ceramics is an attempt to reflect my own journey through life, its strength and fragility. An attempt to embody non-material concepts: our unconscious, our feelings and premonitions, the thought process, emotions. This is an attempt to bring to life those deep personal experiences, catastrophes of time and ancestral genetic memory, that lives in each of us”."
