<<Ofrenda: Taller de Barro>>, A Candlelit Día de los Muertos Workshop with Alva y McKendree

"One of the most culturally significant holidays in Mexico, Día de los Muertos is an emotional celebration in which the living honor the memory of those who have come before them. The ritual sharing of mezcal plays a key role in its celebration, with a little poured on the ground to honor the Ancestors and Mother Earth who gave us the agave." - Del Maguey Mezcal

We'll be tasting Del Maguey mezcal and exploring hand-built constructions. Participants will learn from the Purépecha tradition and choose to build some of the traditional elements that compose an ofrenda: copal, a Xolo dog (xoloitzcuintli), candelabros, or mezcal containers for our ofrenda for Día de los Muertos.

Guests will be able to create 2 to 4 pieces, depending on size, for the ofrenda, which will be on view from October 21st to November ___ in our café.
